In some parts of West Africa such as Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Benin etc., corruption or embezzlement of government money or property is the now normal. Nigerian singer, Zlatan clearly revealed to BBC Pidgin news that if given the opportunity to become the president of his country, he will embezzle the state money.

Zlatan was privileged to be interview by BBC Pidgin news in the previous week. During the interview, the singer talks about his music carrier, challenges in the pandemic era, upcoming projects and his personal lifestyle.

At the latter part of the interview, he was asked if he has an ambition of being the president of his country and what he will do. In the surprise of the interviewer, Zlatan said, “I will embezzle money if I become the president of Nigeria”.

Reactions from his fans and some citizens are positive and negative. Some are in support of what he said but very few disagree with his statement. Zlatan explained that his government use money to do unnecessary things and also not interested in the wellbeing of the citizens.

And since practice makes man perfect, he has learnt a lot from them and might practice what they do.
