Sierra Leone Music Needs Its Own Unique Sound – Kao Denero

Sierra Leone hip-hop superstar Kao Denero said their music in Sierra Leone must have a unique sound.

According to Kao, his country must be known for a particular sound like how South Africans are known for the Amapiano sound.

He added that, all music producers in Sierra Leone should start adding “gumbay” and “bubu” sounds in other genre like hip-hop, afrobeat and co.

His words “Sierra leone music needs our own unique sound.
I will encourage all our producers to start utilising the sounds of gumbay and bubu.
Those can be incorporated in hiphop,afro beat or afro fusion
We need to introduce something dynamic we will be known for.
