We will try to train on finishing – Ghana coach Otto
Ghana coach Otto Addo says the Black Stars will train on finishing after they squandered several good opportunities in Thursday’s game against Sudan.
The Black Stars drew 0-0 with Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan, but it should have been a comfortable victory for the four-time African champions at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Mohammed Kudus, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, and Fatawu Issahaku were all guilty of missing chances that were easier to score than to miss, leaving Ghana now desperate for victories in their remaining 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
“Surely, we will try to train on finishing and give them confidence, that’s all. This was the only thing which was missing.
“The spirit was good, the passion was there, the defensive discipline was there, they were just about to finish the action, that’s all. Sudan was very lucky today.
“Next time we see them in Libya, they won’t be lucky; then we will, that’s all,” said Addo.
Ghana will face Sudan again on Tuesday in Libya, with a win a must; otherwise, their hopes of qualifying may well be over.
